The ResNet team accepts employment applications from students throughout the year. Ideal applicants demonstrate a good mix of technical and "people" skills. The current pay rate for students working at ResNet is $12.00 per hour.

Position Responsibilities:

• Work at ResNet help desk, providing walk-in, phone and in-room support (network and desktop) to residents
• Assist students in maintaining a safe computing environment
• Assist in the maintenance of residence hall computer labs
• Diagnose and resolve a variety of issues such as those listed below...

Software issues • Adware/Spyware removal and prevention • Anti-virus installation • Virus removal/prevention • System updates • System restores     Miscellaneous • Email password changes

Hardware issues • Hard drive installation • Assistance with student-owned peripherals (i.e. printers, scanners, etc.) • Data recovery from damaged media • Screen replacement     Network issues • Connectivity problems • Device registration

Qualifications:

• Intimate knowledge of Windows and/or Mac operating systems
• Familiarity with iOS and/or Android
• Strong desire to help other students
• Experience installing hard drives or other components
• Experience installing and configuring anti-virus software
• Experience troubleshooting PC problems and installing drivers
• Good problem-solving skills -- ability to follow through
